Costs

When planning your budget, it helps to know that Thai universities generally fall into two main groups.

Private universities — such as Bangkok University International, ABAC/Assumption, Stamford International, Rangsit International, Sripatum International, and UTCC International — usually charge around ฿120,000–400,000 per year for international programs, depending on the university and course. Because these universities often pay recruitment commissions to education consultants, a good agent’s support may cost the student nothing at all.

Public universities — including Chulalongkorn, Thammasat, Mahidol/MUIC, Kasetsart, KMUTT, KMITL, and others — also offer international programs, but they do not usually pay agent commissions. That means application support for these universities is often a paid service. It is important to be clear that no agent can guarantee admission to a public Thai university. Final decisions are made by the university through Thailand’s national admission system, TCAS. - **Term 1:** begins in August

- **Term 2:** begins in January

Application windows usually open several months before each intake, and popular private-university programs can fill up early. For that reason, starting your application process 6–9 months before your intended intake is usually the safest option.

What to Prepare

Before you apply, it’s a good idea to have the following ready:

- Academic transcripts from your most recent school or university, translated and certified if they are not in English or Thai

- English proficiency evidence, such as IELTS, TOEFL, Duolingo, or another accepted test, depending on the program

- A personal statement or motivation letter tailored to the program

- Your passport and financial documents for the student visa stage

- A portfolio or references, if you are applying for design, architecture, or research-based programs
